Ramadan Reminder 14

Bismillaah.

The prophet – peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him – said:  “I and the one who cares for the orphan excellently will be ad close in Paradise as these two fingers (index and middle fingers) of mine!”

A child without parents to care for him is no doubt the most fragile member of any society.  No wonder Allaah and His messenger put so much emphasis on caring for, and not oppressing or taking advantage of, the orphan.

A simple monetary donation to an orphanage, or a visit with gifts or sweets in hand, can work wonders for the emotional and physical well-being of an orphan, and rewards are multiplied in the month of Ramadan.

The prophet – peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him – said: “The most beloved deed to Allaah is bringing happiness to the heart of another muslim.” So why not let that person be an orphan?
