Reminders 29 & 30

Reminder 29: Don’t forget to fast the 6 days of Shawwal.

Reminder 30: If you were blessed to be able to perform extraordinary good deeds this month, ask Allaah to bless you with the ability to continue to perform those deeds.

  1. This was a beautiful post mash’allah.

This Ramadan was definitely different from the last two we’ve spent in Egypt.

First of all, we didn’t attend that many iftars this year(just 6) and we werent able to have any at our house either.

Even though I would have liked to have people over, alhamdulillah Allah knows I needed a quiet Ramadan.

The few days we were invited out were nice but i know if we went out alot, somehow it takes away the focus. Allah knows best.

Another thing that was really enjoyable was that we took the kids and prayed at a few diffrent masajid for taraweeh. The kids did exceptionally well alhamdulillah. I would take Maryam and budi would go with hubby and they would just be wonderful alhamdulillah.

I definitely have regrets over what I could have striven to do more, but there was one thing that i grew to love DOING. And i hope and pray that Allah helps me to continue it after Ramadan.

Also, now that budi is older, we realized inshallah we have to continue more family worship together – praying togther, weekly halaqa, fasting together etc.

Eid alhamdulillah was very fun this year aside from missing the prayer. turns out hubby had forgotten to change the time change thing from pm to am lol.

We had you guys over for breakfast..i dont think ive ever been that thrown off and disorganized inviting ppl over haha but insh’allah i hope next eid will be better 🙂

After the eid breakfast, we hung out, napped, and then went over to my mother in law’s house and then went to some relatives’ house alhamdulillah. The next day, we got together with inlaws at the naadi and the kids bicycled at the naadi and we all prayed and ate there.

Alhamdulillah, Eid was really enjoyable and i was happy that we were able to get together with everyone in a halal way!! 🙂

  2. I know this is late, but thanks so much for your comment, Naureen! I enjoyed reading about your Ramadan and Eid, and glad it was a joyous time for you and your family 🙂 Take care!
